  • Take an ownership and be responsible for Architecting, Designing, Implementation and Administration of On-Premise Hadoop infrastructure
  • Prior experience with Hadoop administration and managing and analyzing Hadoop log files
  • Setup, configure and maintain the Hadoop clusters including components such as Kafka, Storm, Hive, Pig, Spark, HDFS, HBase, Oozie, Sqoop, Flume, Zookeeper, etc
  • User management; provision users and groups, ACL permissions, Kerberos and other requirements for security
  • Monitor, diagnose problems and fix issues
  • Automate tasks and operations via coding / scripting
  • Monitoring, tuning and improving big Hadoop clusters to keep them healthy
  • Regular operations such as adding & removing nodes, failed disk replacement, etc
  • Help and train Hadoop users to use Hadoop eco-system
  • Help teams in supervising Hadoop jobs using job scheduler like Oozie
  • Be a part of a POC team and help build new Hadoop clusters in AWS

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in Hadoop Administration
  • Good communication skills
  • Cluster Security
  • Experience in Hadoop platform security implementation and administration – tools such Atlas and Ranger
  • Experience in configuration management and release management using DevOps / Open source tools such as Chef, Puppet & Jira

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with AWS is a big plus, Amazon Web Services
  • Devops: Linux Admin, Shell / Python scripting, Ansible, Docker
  • Experience with devops, Linux administrator, DBA, etc.
