Leland Tea is a California-based boutique tea brand known for crafting hand-blended, signature and custom tea blends using natural ingredients. Founded in 2004, the company has established a strong local presence with its Tea House in Burlingame. In addition to its physical Tea House, Leland Tea operates an online store, where customers can purchase their handcrafted blends, seasonal collections and more.

About the project

Leland Tea came to us with a strong offline presence but a weak digital footprint. Their website was outdated, text-heavy, visually unappealing, and difficult to manage. It did not support wholesale, catering, event booking, or storytelling for the brand.

Our goal was to transform the existing Shopify website into a modern, visually appealing, mobile-optimized, and easy-to-manage e-commerce platform — capable of driving online sales, wholesale inquiries, and customer event bookings.

Challenges that was faced and overcame

Outdated Shopify theme with limited customization options: The existing Shopify theme was based on an older template that did not support Shopify’s modern Section-based architecture. This made it difficult to modify layouts, add new blocks, or visually highlight seasonal collections, promotional bundles, or featured teas.

Teas, accessories, event packages, and gift sets were mixed together without proper categorization, making it hard for customers to find what they were looking for.
